This company is engaged in the distribution of gas, as well as the construction, maintenance and operation of the Sagunto Regasification Plant. The company owns the Sagunto Regasification Plant, and aims to run the commercial and maintenance operations of the Sagunto Regasification Plant. Large energy companies such as Union Fenosa Gas, Iberdrola, Endesa Generacion and Oman Oil Holding Spain form part of this company. Incorporated in 2001, the company has its registered head office in Madrid, Spain. The Sagunto Regasification Plant is a basic energy infrastructure for the Spanish State, as it satisfies to up to 20 percent of the gas demand throughout Spain. Moreover, it provides the Valencia Region, one of the main consumer areas of natural gas in Spain, with a gas entry point, which it formerly lacked, converting it from a deficit to a surplus autonomous community from the energy point of view. The productive process that is undertaken at the Sagunto Regasification Plant includes the reception, storage and shipping of natural gas. Liquid natural gas arrives at the plant in methane carrying ships, is stored, returned to its gaseous state and is then channeled to the general network of gas pipes, after being measured and odorised. The plant is located at the end of the southern counterdyke of the Port of Sagunto extension in Valencia. The port of Sagunto offers a strategic geographical location for the reception of liquid natural gas arriving from the producer countries of the Mediterranean, Africa and the Middle East.
